Innovative Midstream Company Hiring as New Projects Were Coming Online

Challenge:

The Vice President of Administration for a company building cutting-edge pipelines, worked with the executive leadership to determine what skills and attributes were needed in a Director of Project Management. This position was extremely important to the growth of the company.

The company had started a few years before and had gone through a recent IPO. The company was also private equity-backed. Many of the founders were from the same company prior and the company was looking to bring new individuals with new ideas to the table.

Solution:

  • We identified a diverse slate of candidates, representing diversity in gender and ethnic backgrounds, while mapping the market.

  • We found several candidates aligned with the skills needed for the position, who were well versed in pipeline engineering and project management.

  • The first round of candidates were interviewed and unfortunately, the team was not interested in moving forward with any of them. We benchmarked the candidates, visualized what the final candidate needed to look like in comparison to the slate, and discussed the interview process.

  • The second round of candidates was presented and the managing director of TLR Search was invited to sit in on the interviews with the team.

Result:

An offer was made to a diverse candidate. Soon after the company was acquired.
